Yoga Practice with Dogs

Service Description

Dogs are natural yogis - they instinctively stretch, self-soothe, and shake their bodies to reset. They also embrace living in the present moment, engaging all their senses to make the most of NOW. You could say that dogs are the perfect embodiment of ‘Santosha’, the yogic concept of contentment. In Zen Dog Yoga, led by practitioner Sophie Tanner, we explore these joyful canine qualities, paying particular attention to poses that are directly inspired by dogs’ movements. We have several dogs in the room as we practice, casting their professional eye over our unique Vinyasa Flow. Our furry yoga guides are free to interact with us as they see fit, we don’t make them do any poses. They may offer us the occasional encouraging lick or paw prod and they rather enjoy a good tummy tickle. The gentle movements, soothing environment, and zen dog energy promote relaxation and stress relief for both humans and dogs, creating a lasting sense of calm and wellbeing. The classes are not an open invitation to all dogs, we hand-pick our dog guides in advance so that they’re comfortable together in the space. We look forward to welcoming you at Zen Dog Yoga, we promise you’ll have a ball!
